smallish, right tide, clean and late afternoon - very enjoyable for a Friday end of week (and again surprisingly uncrowded for such a touristy spot)

Saw a guy getting out of 1-2ft fat high tide surf with a Merrick Black Beauty this morning.

Got some really fun 2' waves this morning, most fun surf I've had in easy a year or more. Clean fun chest to head high+ waves with a decent run to them. Good banks at the local and saw a few of the regulars I haven't seen in the water in ages. Watched mick Lowe get a few with his son as well. Man turns

A while back i saw a bearded hipster with a gleaming mctavish pintail single fin tracker Surfing waist high cross to onshore slop......I am sure in his mind he was grooving & jiving and all cool like.......The reality wasnt pretty. That day i learnt that a $1,500 board wont give u Al Knost like style, poor deluded bastard

Most of the "trad longboards" out at Bondi aren't appropriate to the conditions and their riders don't know how to get back off the nose if they are competent enough to get up there in the first place. Many cant even do that.

Saw a mini mal on the roof racks of a brand new Audi hatchback this evening ... with the wax side on top. I suppose the driver can claim that it doesn't matter since the sun had set by then.

1' protected fun little high tide waves this morning. Had a feeling there'd be something small, and my knees been going well so I wanted to test it out with my little 5'4" JD. Not great waves but good enough to get wet and the knee held up ok. Was thinking I might have to sell it with my knee but there's no chance it's going now, makes tiny surf super fun.

Good waves, Collaroy? in the same sentence? Not bloody likely although it looks like I've just said it.
