easy entry, handles late drops, deepest bottom turns I can muster, still turns easily and fast fast fast - never surfed a board like it

Looks just like a board I bought off Peter Drouyn in the late 70's
Yes he called them flutes back then
But he also called himself Peter Drouyn back then. :-o

Westerly Windina (get it, ha ha!) these days........hmmm I wonder if that's Offshore's alter ego?

Giving him/herself a name like that isn't exactly a good start to leading a quiet life.

Yep - cranking down south too. Man, it was flog city for a good twenty minutes. I've still got water running out of my nose.

Wind protected but washy reef south of Wollongong at a solid 5 foot. A bit burgery and shapeless but still had a tonne of push to it. Wasn't barreling, but some fun drops, speed runs and cutbacks.

Haha same, tap nose 5 and a bit hours later. Took the first wave of one set and got absolutely smashed by 4 after. was regretting not keeping up cardio and healthy lungs for a little while.

Good post surf adrenalin buzz today.

Few northern beaches had rideable waves with my local closed and empty. Some bodyboarders were taking advantage of a nearby 2-3 times a year wave that barrelled into 6 inches of sand - a smaller version of the Waimea shore break.

I headed further south to a protected spot but had to share with many others.

Local has cleaned up but still only 3 out in head high stuff suited only to the highly skilled. Travelled south again to the rideable protected spot and shared the chest high (at best) waves with 50 other new best friends. I hate to think what the weekend crowds will be like there.

Same, perfectly groomed 4-6 ft bombs unloading in a straight line. Maybe the tide too high when I went out today.

It's a swell for reefs not beachies Loofy. A swell this size with too much period or south in it will just go to waste at maroubra or most beach breaks .

Go find a reef break ffs Loofy. Put that 6'8 Russ short bonzer thru it's paces. It's a bird with clipped wings collecting fkn dust

I had a few good ones at my local this morning (again). But I got way more on the head than I caught. Some of the bomb sets were 10 or 12 waves. If you didn't make it over the first you got pushed back into the drop zone until they were finished with you.
Nice the swell is hanging in there. Just hope the wind drops off overnight again.

The next 3 days are showing similar patterns, with a slight variation in wind direction and a dropping swell. Optimistic.
