I’m not knocking it.

Here in the wind swell season there’s plenty of opportunity to catch a wave every two mins or less. But we also get frequent groundswells here, where you’ll be waiting 15 mins for set, with fk all coming in between them.

So for GSTQ to chest beat over wave count per session just speaks of the frequent small low period swells he’s dealing with. And his whole “core” shtick of turning his nose up at the longboard, the ideal craft for small weak crap surf, is pretty cute.

Nose riding isn't that easy to do well.

hatchynam is trying to out core GSTQ, Polebean thinks nose riding isn't that easy to do well about 50 years after it was perfected, shearer niggling at the edges like a jiu jitsu MMA person looking for a break, and there is no surf whatsoever!

This is bullshit man.

Only three things give me hope:

- That one day GSTQ will face his fears and visit this fair land, and ride with his fellow Realsurfers along something approximating an ocean shoreline.
- That Polebean and hatchnam will finally bury the hatchet and go down the coast together to find a rip bowl with some sneaky runners and a few whackable sections
- That the sth swell forecasts for late next week/weekend fcuking actually come true.

The only problem with #2 is that Polebean and Namhatch will probably bury the hatchet - in each other. #*!

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

I can show him some nose riding tips and we can discuss wave heights.....actually that probably where the trip goes pear shaped. We realise we are using the same standard but Hatchie is over calling size by a factor of three :-D-:

North corner bank on a national park beach break, that was catching all of the left overs of this dying swell. Waist to chest high, pockety, and peeling flawlessly. Hint of backwash that was helping add a little wedge-effect on take off.

Surfed the 7’6 MINI MAL, of course. No need for ineffective pumping or tic-tacks. Glide, glide and more glide. Nice little shoulder to bank turns off.

As a tribute to our little Welsh mate I even did a couple of switcheroo look-backs into the pocket before facing forward to swoop and bank into a cutback.

Blue skies, warm water, board shorts, a couple whales out the back heading north. Gods country.

To tell the truth eggs are one thing I avoid buying when I’m grocery shopping. So you may say I’m an intermittent egg buyer who usually lets someone else buy them.

Getting back to the Nose Riding is Easy Debate.....in the context of beginner, intermediate and advanced surfer....which the sites use as a benchmark......an advanced surfer...in my opinion....should be able to do most shite on a surfboard and handle most situations. Intermediate...again in my opinion.....can go out in regular surf and string a few turns together, do a cutback and pull into a regular barrel.
Most intermediate surfers and I would say Sydney Surfers in particular here....would be able to get up on the nose or pull into a barrel and if all goes well not fall off. However most can't nose ride. Most can't reallllyyy ride hollow waves.
What do you reckon?

I can get barrelled on a log better than I can nose ride it.
I can get the odd hang 5 in. I've never hung 10.

I think, for nose riding, the skill is in how you get there and back
