I'm not sure you could call what I did today surfing. Last Sunday too big, today beyond tiny.

I like to call it a swim surf. Swimming with a board to keep you company

Illawarra beachie at 2 foot. Clean little a frame peaks breaking left and right. Took the daughter out on her 7 foot foamie. She’s now at the stage where she can paddle into a few by herself and go across the face.

Got her trained to paddle straight for the peak and get in under the lip nice and steep. None of this shoulder shit. Think the prior nippers training she’s done has helped prep her a bit.

I'm trying to picture Hatchie at his daughters Nipper Training. Charming but hard to reconcile with his hard core high plains drifter mad max surf driver image.

Hard core ...... image ??

I surf an old single fin 60-70% of the time.

This isn’t Wales.

Your idea of hardcore, is that people who manage to get parks and surf overhead waves?

Or is it tea-totaller something-something?

I took my son out on Saturday, 1-2ft super clean, crystal clear waves grinding down the bank. Fccck me, was insanely good. He was absolutely stoked as was I.

The fact that you are too dumb to understand what I'm saying doesn't mean it doesn't mean anything. I can see how you would have a problem with that though. Fortunately I couldn't care less if you understand what I'm saying or not.

You know it, brine brother. Although it's true you can't get a park when the nippers are on.
