I rode my bike down to the wall late arvo and did notice a few long lines stacking up on the bar.

I had a morning and a midday surf already and got my fill then.

I’ve driven a few times but mostly bike.

Last week I surfed the wall, which I don’t all that often and I got blatantly burnt by 3 people. I just laughed it off, but I got the feeling it was a few locals starting to do the ‘if I don’t remember seeing you before, I’m gonna burn you’ thing with the back up (in their minds) of travel restrictions.

Today though was much more crowded and I I saw no drop ins and no agro.

I only just changed my qld rego over last week too after I bought a car from there in November.

I jumped off the rocks with Leo Fioravanti and told him to run back as a set came, then jumped.

I was shocked, totally over-gunned on a 6'1' Ghost at dawn and totally under-gunned on dark.

Wait, you think that 6' is too much for that board? I got a 6'2" last year that has a higher upper limit but the 6'1" is pretty solid at that size for me, and I'm bigger than you (taller, maybe same weight).
Solid 6’ from the south can be a bit hard to paddle into/paddle to position.

500 yard paddles, 3 knot current, wind and gurgle on the take-off, big lurching take-offs, 80 yard take-off area, lots of distance needing to be covered.

With 6ft of clean E swell, easy.

A great day of waves today, was glassy till 1.30 then still only light wind now.
Solid 4-5 with 6ft clean ups.
Crowds were back to manageable for the early, uncrowded for the midmorning into lunchtime session.

Snuck down south a bit to paddle around in the rips and get smashed by the clean up sets. Managed a couple of semi okay ones.

2'-3' light onshore crap. At least it was a reef and only 4 people out though.

After having been able to gloat a bit for the last 6 years I'm now going to be pitied

These guys surfed the reefs off Collaroy. Not very well obviously. Idiots.

Was that Nick who stripped down to his undies and swam out to assist?

He's a very strong swimmer you know. They didn't need the salvage operation, Nick could've towed it in by himself
