Apparently a unusual reforming bank was producing the goods this morning at a non Bondi break. Looked crap when I checked it this arvo.

Fun this morning! Fractured combo of swell, 4-5’ ENE and similar sized SE with clean conditions

well this is shit. Swell/conditions had a go for about two hours yesterday then was obliterated by a 40 knot sse gale

this morning swell showing all the signs of a classic Fizzle -- fetch in retreat toward NZ, energy vanishing by the minute. Who doesn't love 4'+ semi closeouts in a light onshore?

I got lucky. Low tide, deep water east-loving rock shelf, no wind and 5 guys.

Dropping off fast though for sure.

You could have bodysurfed them, Nick. Those types of waves can be good fun. They are pretty useless for board riding.

Overcame my general lack of enthusiasm for the recent conditions and went for a paddle. More uncooperative than it looked from shore but managed a couple of longish rides with some semi interesting sections on the right and boring cutback required slow moving lumps on the left. Cleared the sinuses. Not sure about the kilojoules though.

I had a crack past the pole earlier but the tide was pretty high, was there more shape on a lower tide?

I was just South of the pole around mid-tide. It was filling up when I got out.

I often wonder why some of the guests don’t sign up so that they can get access the fountain of wisdom on all matters that is the tangents. I just looked and there are 94 people online and all they get to see is the boring shit in the “general surf discussion” threads.
