Sort of heavyish tricky beachbreak this morning. About an hour in I found myself in the midst of some sort of male pattern baldness wave-dodging weekend warrior surf club.

Like they had surf boards and bodyboards and were out there but just refused to take off on any waves.

I paddled myself into a lather.

The surf built in size and power later today. Ended up more like a thick consistent four to five foot. the bomb sets had some real size and thump to them. Both major forecasting perhaps under called it a touch. mistakenly.

Yesterday a few head high waves at a breakwall. Surfed on my backhand and my knee felt half decent. Stoked!

ˆˆ i scored some pretty fun beachies, salty. a few solid ones, not so much in size, but just sucking up and spitting out over a super shallow bank.

Amazing what a bit of east in the swell does for things around here.

Yep, you actually have waves with angle that cover distance. So much more enjoyable.

DY yesterday, Curly today. Enjoyable both sessions but curly had a lightening inside bank to race if you managed to get through the soft middle.

The twinny on dusk. The bank's holding up well still. Even after a solid amount of abuse from southerly swells.

North Cronulla looked good this morning. Noticed the water was 21deg.

Hey Trev, I had a very dubious surf at Alexandra Headland this week.

Not surprising.
And if it gets any good, 50 million turn up.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Had my first ever surf at Lennox monday morning. Was visiting my brother who has moved there; he's working on the upgrade at Lismore Hospital. Anyway, was 2-3 feet and pretty well pumping. Managed the rocks unscathed both in and out. Caught a dozen or so good ones and was super stoked by the end. Yew! Kept an eye out for Steve but as I hopped in at 9.30 am I reckoned I probably missed him by about 4 hours.

Also got busted by the missus saying I was gonna be 'an hour' when I ended up being two. Ahhh the price you pay eh?

South facing reef at head high plus, and close to double overhead on some of the biggest set waves. Some solid water pushing through, with the waves growing in size as they were running down the line. The long period was in full effect. Only a small crew out also. Maybe five all up, with plenty waves coming thru.

Surfed the 6'0 single and it went great. Loose, flowing and clean. Felt great on cutbacks and carving off the top, and sat nice and tight in the bowl.

But in hindsight I should've swapped the 7.5" fin over for the 9" and moved it further back towards the tail end. As with the smaller fin in, and being centred within the fin box, it didn't quite have enough hold on a couple of high pressured bottom turns, and I had the board skip out on me. Twice.

I reckon with the 9" fin in, and moved further back, the board would handle some pretty sizeable waves.

Think for tassie I'll be packing the 9" fin also just in case the swell gets big.

Drove all over the Eastern Suburbs looking for a decent wave. Gave up and had a swim at Bronte. Probably could have paddled out on the Reef but it was too much hassle for the quality. Thought I might have seen Pet out there. Really feeling out of synch with the surf lately.

I was totally surprised by the size this morning. Wasn't expecting what I scored.
