Thanks for the support guys :D
Funny, I was only thinking "why do I do this?", yesterday but a good wave is a good wave if you can get it.
I often wonder if I would have started surfing in an environment like Bondi but who knows?
Really nice micro waves today and I felt so good I offered some advice to the french guy paddling a McTavish carver fish from somewhere back near the tail of his board rather than mocking him with a parody of his pathetic attempts at paddling. :D

Got wet yesterday and it was fun and frustrating at the same time. Good if you got one but well sought after. Got a slightly straightish larger right that didn't have enough peak on it to avoid dredging completely on the inside. Two sections with plenty of speed and then a semi free fall into an inch of water. Bounced off the bottom but still fun. Best larger one had only two drop ins. Hooray.

Copped a flogging, kept paddling out to sea trying to find clean water. Found myself half a kay out alone at 6:45am. Sat for ages waiting for another bomb like the ones that smashed me on the way out. 45mins later It came, by then I was freezing and, but f'me, a monster, probly one of the biggest waves I'v ever paddled into. I was on my 8'1" Tolhurst and it handled the big drop well, went left on the big wall, dropped to the bottom, did a bit of a reo on the crumbly lip, then it filled up and started peeling right. Okay went right along the wall and did a few up and downs and had to pump a bit to stay on it, then it stood up on the inside bank and turned into a left. Phew, ducked under a lip that i probly dint need to and reeled off a couple of reasonable turns before charging a closeout that did'nt closeout. Ended up on the sand with my hair still dry (not bad for a baldy). A one wave session I'll never forget.
When it gets to this level of self important stupidity I lose interest.

Some serious spikes on the wave buoy graph from Mooloolaba over the last couple of days.
Equating to great surf.
Hope the crowds have to work tomorrow.

Surf at the 'roy this morning as expected. Looong paddle and the usual frustrating guesswork of where to sit. Still, great to be out there amongst the energy.

Nowhere. Did the City2Surf today and ended up at messy windblown Bondi. I couldn't see a single surfer in the water at the southern end.
