what was up??
Nah, paddling was fine, getting into waves ok, but the speed I was getting by the bottom turn, plus the odd little bump in the water, made it hard to get it on rail. It just wouldn't dig in. Not enough weight on me obviously.

Those waves were not what the board was designed for, I don't have any problems with that, but wanted to see how it goes in bigger stuff than it has been in so far. Two full size back fins, as we discussed, may have given it more inclination to drive straight too. Still working it all out to tell you the truth. Will have a better idea when I get some smaller fins for them.

Geez Mical, I can't tell how big that is, but it is a pretty picture.

Barely surfable I assume by your comment.

Sure is pretty Olds, but unfortunately no size and more importantly, no push.

Another .5 foot and I'd have probably grabbed a board.

Always tomorrow and besides, I do love body surfing. It's just nice to ride a wave however I can get it.

Spent 3 hours at Noosa this arvo. Started on the 5'5" but swapped over to the log about halfway through when the tide started to fill in. Fun waves from the stairs and through little cove

Probs starting to get a bit too small for the Nationals Marcus. Bet it woulda been fun on the log tho, and how good is that inside bank set up!!

I surfed Platties early. It was a bit confused at times, but there were gems among them. Just nice to get some well overhead waves, with heaps of push. No people, or current were a welcome respite after the Noosa points.

Swell starting cleaning up, and lining up better around 8am or so. But tide was getting too low for Plat by then. Caught a few fun ones at Carties, reckon it would've turned on as the tide dropped and the swell eased.

what'd you take out??
Took out the smaller RV quad, cause it's my newer board, but think I would have been better with the webber, which is 4'' longer and a thruster set up.
Head space Olds, been riding a snub nose sub 6' quad, Iggy knows the one, since last Friday. It goes well when I do. You can work out the meaning behind that.

If I hadn’t ridden Huie’s CDD with it’s small dimensions I doubt I would have even tried.

P.S. To those that know, the Innegra/glass combination is holding up unbelievably.

Sure can Ric.

I mentioned to Iggy off line that my head space wasn't particularly conducive to good surfing.

Brain seems to be undergoing some renovations at the moment.

Been enjoying this swell a lot especially watching the changes it's wrought on Sydney beaches, not a sandbank would've remained unaltered

plus flipping through the quiver, I think I've ridden six different boards in six days.

now I would like a clean 4-6' southerly groundswell please Huey, served over a considerable tide change to exploit the freshly laid southern-angled sand everywhere.

Likewise......the Point has been crowded, but with ridiculously highly skilled surfers.

Chunky, bumpy, sectiony, too square yesterday arvo.
Onshore bump aplenty.
Double-ups and ski-jumps and a million kinds of wave angles and surfaces.
Come off a top turn and freefall out of the lip as it doubled up.
Hilarious.

Trying to dial in a finely foiled Mitchell Rae flextail with wildly varying results.
A shorter, wider template woulda been more practical.

Yesterday the crowd was largely composed of super competent female surfers in their late teens and twenties.
A bunch of French people.
A well made blonde girl with a mohawk paddled past and then proceeded to tear the Ox a new one.

Noel Graham looked at me and said...."the times are a changin'"
I want Nightclub Dwight dead in his grave I want the nice-nice up in blazes

Snapper at first light. I counted 50 at 5am. Ridiculous. I grabbed the mal and got a couple at Greenmount. 3-4ft. but a bit fullish.
