Or if it gets serious you jump off south of Icebergs and paddle around.

Offshore is going to have a decent paddle out next week with the swell from Hurricane Lee that just went Cat 5.
Yep.
My oldest says he's 98% sure it's going to miss us. Jeezus I hope so, I spent ALL winter reno-ing the cottage -- kitchen, bathroom, all the floors downstairs. Cat 5 hit and it'll all be just a soggy memory.

It'll be much weaker when it gets to you, and it looks like it will curve north.

The spaghetti models mostly agree on a northern turn. Still a long way out though, and the ocean is like a hot tub.

Who would've thought that heating up the ocean would have consequences.

Looks like another system about a week behind it too.

Hey beanpole there’s a rip down the south end near the pool you kook
Hey, The Mighty there’s rips right along the beach when it’s smaller too.
There’s also one more suited to you up at the North End of the Beach near the kiddies pool.

Yes, there’s a rip down near the Bergs and yes, there have been days where it’s been worth using it when it’s bigger….but usually not.
Thanks for the advice.

Yesterday first surf in a week.
Was so stiff andfelt like I’d lost all fitness so quick. Hadn’t been doing my weights either.
Life was work, rocking chair for the baby and a course over the weekend.
Fucked up so many waves and then somehow managed to get a nice forehand and backhand baz to finish up and redeeem the sesh.
Forced myself to do a workout last night after putting the misso and kid to bed and this morning the energy had ramped right up in the ocean.
All of a sudden felt fit again and had a great surf. 4-6ft shifty righthanders.

It was pumping today.
I dawnied the Pass with son, and had a second surf at the Point.

bit of a wait, but insane when they came.

Offshore dawn till dusk today. Mainly shoulder high, erratic sets every 30 minutes or so, uncrowded. Smaller than forecaste.

A few large sets catching everyone 50m inside around sunset.
