Re: Where did you surf today ?
There’s a range of boards in that size range in a number of categories. Obviously a 9’ board is going to be all about noseriding if it’s not a gun. You can get a 7’6” or even 7’ board that the full minimal design and will noseride and trim on it if you wanted to or it can be an oversized shortboard.
Best ones are from experienced longboard shapers IMHO because they know what they are doing with each design.
One thing I’ve noticed is I tend to use the tail a lot to stall and pivot when I get up if I’ve been using a mal or even 8fter. Have to rethink things when I go shorter.

Depends what you want to do.
I like riding nose-riding classic logs in small peelers.
Mid-lengths can't do that.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
My longboard skills have gone to shit since I hardly do it anymore.
Zero style in that traditional style, cross step, noseride kind of logging.
I feel like I’m not bad on sub 9 ft midlength boards, surfing from the mid point and tail and sometimes venture 3/4 up for the rare tube.
But my longest board at the moment is 7ft.
Actually, I have a 9ft longboard but it’s collecting cobwebs.

Don't agree with this.
Boards with the wide point rear of the centre are about turning.
And noseriding these days is a gimmick anyway.
Note; one long noseride will score less in competition than moving up and down the board and reaching the nose more than once in the same distance.
In other words, combine your noserides with walking the board and turning.
Noseriding can get fucked!!!

You aren’t the room Yuke You are just a wonky cafe table with a missing rubber pad on the end of one leg.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Feel free to think that.
I grew up noseriding. Can still do it. It's pretty easy. Slight stall, move forward, little bit of sideways rocking while on the nose for effect, walk back
But I simply prefer to pull a couple of big turns instead.
Or a head dip.

Same, nose riding itself isn’t that hard but doing it well and stylishly is.
And I’m way off.

Fired Trev up. Sorry I should have added unless you’re an old codger who can’t ride a midlength anymore.
Yeah, noseriding is simple in principle. Getting back is usually the next level after managing to get up there.
I kind of liken it to tube riding. You just turn and pull in.

I can actually. Had a go on a mates Farrelly down railer. 7'6".
Surprised everyone including myself how easily I rode it.
But longboards are my thing.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Shortboards and longboards harder to ride than the mid (I’m including handling in the surf, not just paddling on a 2 ft empty peeler etc)
