Some nice 2-3ft surf, finally.

I was rusty out there.

I remember some wheelchair xylophonist getting all macho about how he liked to smash absolutely heaps of Weetbix before a hard day's roofing

I imagine a well known Boat Ramp down your way would have been good in these conditions. You can usually use Bronte as an indicator for there.

Went for a paddle this arvo. Swells on the increase. You could get the odd reforming smaller one through the rip but the sets were closing out. Got a couple and got pissed off with the growing crowd so thought I’d paddle up the beach and see if I could catch something in near the showers.
There was still a few people taking off on dredging closeouts up there and nothing really on offer. Then I got caught inside by a set and flogged on the shallowsandbank.

Sounds a little frustrating Beans, but good effort. I'd say you deserve a beer.

About to paddle out in onshore 0.5-1ft onshore beachie at the entrance to the Hinchinbrook channel.

I wouldn’t say it’s croc infested. But they are definitely part of this ecosystem.

If I look right and squint past the cloud bathed peaks of Hinchinbrook island I can see the birthplace of Billy Slater.

Four foot plus greenhills. Walled up rights breaking down the line. Surfed the Phil Myers 6-channel single fin for the first time in over a year. Forgot how fast it is and how effortless it makes everything, covers so much ground with so little input.

I just noticed that the current water temperature is 27.4C. It sure made it easy to go for a surf early on a rainy, cloudy morning, as does the glassy conditions and just a couple in the water - surf forecastes underrating the conditions helped hugely.

Been an incredible couple of days here.
A semi-novelty spot lit up that I won’t post here.
Only watched 3 guys on it. I was already 2x2hour surfed out non stop paddle seshes down from another spot so just enjoyed the view with a lone whale doing continuous full body breaches 50m beyond them as it travelled north.

School Holidays and poor tide times make for frustrating conditions.

Finally had a paddle in the rain. Up north end. A couple of little banks for the smaller waves. Drove past Bronte on the way home. 25 guys on the reef.

Snapped the Will webber this morning.
Pretty powerful sets. I think I must have creased it trying to duck dive this really big square throwing lip and then on the next wave snapped it on a relatively insignificant section.
