I know Phil was involved at the time but he hasn’t been in the surf reserve committee for a few years.

Funnily enough, they made a movie related to the reserve , using lots of the same photos as the book and some video.

Just surfed super high performance 3-4ft point surf with Matty Wilko, who rode a mid length foamie.
That’s where the money is, I expect he’ll take a pay day where he can get it since Rip Curl dropped him.

How’d he go on the foamy? He was awful on the keels at J Bay. I’ve seen a few HPSB guys really struggle on middies. Wondering how a pro went.

Yep Fanning is a household name for sure. But, he does a bunch of things. Think he just sold his share of Balter for 10 million. Nick probably has the real story there. He’s was prominent on the Com Games bid etc.. and frankly seems like a guy who backs himself out of the water. Shark encounter or not.

The youngens from the comp were enjoying the freedom of free surfing. Saw some good girl surfing. They give no quarter to the boys these young chicks.

Must be power, training or anatomical differences but the young ladies aren’t great bottom turners. I could be wrong of course.

Someone in the paper was saying women as a generalisation have a lower centre of gravity to men. Might explain the difference in style.
