You aren’t the room Yuke You are just a wonky cafe table with a missing rubber pad on the end of one leg.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Barilaro just held a presser at Lismore and announced the NSW State Gov will not be overturning the Ballina Shire Council decision.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Obviously Barilaro didn't promise to build more roads or sporting facilities in the local electorate - he is the master of pork barelling

Re: Where did you surf today ?
I don‘t think so Trev, it would be locals in the water with the competitors, the competitors aren’t going to be from the area. I’m not talking about local board rider club contests like the ones you go in, but I definitely don’t think they should be able to exclude anyone from the water either. Anyway if “locals” feel so entitled as to damage property and get violent then it can be escalated by either side all the way to gaol or the grave over what? Their right to own the water?Trev wrote: ↑Thu Feb 04, 2021 1:20 pmYour car would be toast.marauding mullet wrote: ↑Thu Feb 04, 2021 11:33 amWhat’s to stop anybody from being out in the line-up during a surf comp at any location in Australia? I mean, what are they going to do anyway, bash you in public?
And if you ever dared to show up there again, yep, they'd bash you.
Or drown you.
Re: Where did you surf today ?
The government controls access to crown land and inshore waters. A lot of those powers have been given to local councils. The police and (I think) duly authorised local council officers can order recreational surfers out of the water during surf comps.

too late Loof, you could have made a submission like all the gronks did.
Looks like Sydney is next in the firing line, so you'll be able to go watch.
maybe you can billet Kelly Slater out?

He was so drained last night. Texted back that line about exploring options and that was itsteve shearer wrote: ↑Thu Feb 04, 2021 12:25 pmI think on the Gold Coast there is a bathing reserve that they can police and arrest you.
doubt that applies elsewhere.
Most interesting thing to me after reading Nicks story on Surfline was not a single direct quote from the WSL.
I understand why Starkey won't return my calls but to not speak to the longest running surf journalist covering pro surfing speaks volumes about their chaotic approach.
I'll get him.
Fascinating times!

For paddling out during a contest?
Are you fcuken serious trev. You sure you didn't spend a bit too long underwater this morning. Name me one incident in surfing history in which a person has had his/her car set on fire or been bashed/drowned as a result of paddling out during a surfing contest.
Actually I'll give you one, when Joel Tudor's Dad bashed a kneeboarder for surfing Malibu during one of Joel's longboard heats.
Re CTs, most of them have daily time limits set on them so there's plenty of free surfing time in the mornings and arvos for locals and pros alike. They're not blocked off for the waiting period.

I gotta say, there's way more talk about bashing in the surf than there is actual bashing.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Having said that.
Queenscliff had a club comp on one day.
I was sitting on the beach watching after surfing before they started.
Some guy refused to exit the comp area and two "largish" blokes paddled out and sat either side of him.
Every time he moved, they shadowed him.
He left.
The grommets in that club had competition shirts with the name of the club on them and the words, "I'm in a comp! FU'CK OFF!"

Assuming a 7-5 day like Snapper thats an hour before and an hour after, shared with the top 34 and their entourage.Nick Carroll wrote: ↑Thu Feb 04, 2021 2:30 pm

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Yep, last and one of the only blues I've seen on the beach was at Bondi over 25 years ago and they both knew each other. Right at the tail end of Bondi actually having hardcore locals. One of the guys was from a family of rough looking cnuts. If you imagine a rougher and uglier version of Nick that's what they all looked like. They would tell people to Fcuk off in the surf and whine about yuppies moving in. Well they did and they aren't around anymore. Probably in jail or dead.....or living in the Mentawiis.Nick Carroll wrote: ↑Thu Feb 04, 2021 2:31 pmI gotta say, there's way more talk about bashing in the surf than there is actual bashing.
