Paddled around and got a couple of runners but eh. Used the ol’ Deus super twin I bought off Hatchnam. Still goes ok!

Come to think of it. There was also a bunch of 20ish girls in tasteful swimming attire that cheered me as I came out of the water. And the lifeguard hi fived me as I ran past his tower.

Crowds and skill is way higher than where I am from. It's taking some getting used to, my wave count per session has dropped considerably. Apparently lots of people have taken up.surfing due to COVID here - which would be on par with Australia

Localism is not too bad. Just words being shouted when someone does something stupid that they deserve to hear about. Funny thing about it is Californian accents sound kind of soft to me so maybe it's more intense than I think. Either way I try and stay out of trouble.
