Congratulations. I’m making no claims over those waves. Steve asked for date stamped photos so there they are. He’s feeling a bit foolish now which is why he’s trying to drag me into an argument about swell direction

It was rubbish today, but the water was nice.
Starting to clean up after the rain.

I gave my boards some nice fresh wax jobs today.
The softer stuff from winter was irritating my bare skin.
Not as irritating as 5mm of rubber, mind you.

Wow, not even Braithy can put a positive spin on it:

Ballina Regional Surf Report: 6.01 am Tuesday 29th December: It's looking a bit meh as Strong NNW winds are rocking a small ENE swell in the shoulder high range. Look to sheltered corners for a grovel, but the weather is pretty gloomy and water quality still isn't back to being great after last week's rain. High tide 8.47am Rest of Day Outlook: NNW winds will go NNE and pick up wiping out surfing prospects today. Mix of small leftover ENE swell with NE windswell remaining steady through the day. Weather cloudy with a chance of a shower.

Yes but our dear friend Braithwaite also did the GC report from the Sunny Coast and can I tell you that it was a lot bigger than 0.5 feet. In fact coming out and having a shower I saw a guy get a little barrel. If it was 0.5 feet the only person getting barrelled would be head dip Trev.

Far from pumping GS. But must say it has been nice to get a couple of waves even though it’s relatively flat. Also quite easy to decide to go for a paddle when you just need to jump out of your Santa Fe and grab your board to go for a paddle.

Surfline has gone nuts. I’ve heard the Marauding Mullet will be doing the Victoria surf report. Cranked is doing Hawaii. The Mighty Sunbird is doing Wales. What’s going on?

And the new measure for swell power will be in Kilojoules. About time I say.
Quite interesting that three of the legends of RS are all working for Surfline in some capacity. I smell a conspiracy!

I had quite a fun surf yesterday arvo in punchy 2ft close-outs.
there was just the hint of new trade swell energy in the water.

it was good for doing reos.

Got an awesome piece of sand lined up for the upcoming days as that E swell builds. I'm quite sure it will be uncrowded.

Godsave, are you in full winter kit yet?

what re your thoughts on boardies and a squid lid as an ensemble?

Been a pretty fun summer so far.

certainly, Carroll's call that everywhere was going to be as good as it gets was a ridiculous piece of over-hype but TC Yasa kept us in fun waves for a week.

there's been waves every day.

now that we've got our specs in on the winners and losers in the sand bank department after the last bank buster, life is going back to normal.

I’m still trying to come to terms with Steve not saying anything about that shark yesterday. What’s a surf report for if not to give you intricate information about every beach in your region?
I think you need to include creek water quality, what hat to wear, parking, where to leave your keys and likelihood of sandflies as well.
