It may be smaller than the last 2 days but it's so fun right now. Banks are sooo good now.

In my experience its usually pretty empty when its big, especially the bombie and the outside peak. Bit more of a crowd at Outside Corner when its on though, but nothing serious.

bombie killing at Newport this morning as the swell has a rush of blood to its head (again)

needed all the super board on a couple - steep, tall, windy. some crew followed me out, it slammed for about 90 mins, then I got a really good one and thought ok, that'll do, went in, and the swell lost three feet off itself in 20 minutes. my god the banks are gonna be weird after this.
Any thoughts of joining the crew at Deadies or prefer the bigger bombie stuff?
I do prefer the bigger bombie stuff, but after yesterday I saw what the Deadmans thing is like and it fired me up, I gotta get the right board for it though.
Interesting reading Sam Jones take on swellnet about board choice and positioning, him on a 6’3 and Chris Lougher on an 8’0 who got that mad bomb on video.
Sam’s waves were good too though but taking off from different spots.

yeah totally, I was thinking more 7'2" - 7'3" but thick in the mid point, quick paddle-in. There's a lot of take off spots at that joint, a lot of different kinds of waves

fun surf on the mccoy today in some 3 foot plus beach breaks. peaky rip bowl left in the far south corner and a walled up right a little further across. starting to gel with it pretty well now.

Unfortunately, as is often the case with Viking Claw, the only surf Nick can reasonably look forward to henceforth is in Valhalla.

On a brighter note, it's usually pumping in Valhalla. Not on a par with Wales, mind you, but some pretty awesome rip bowls for a single fin 90's era midlength if you're willing to travel.
