I love how sometimes tiny surf can keep you stoked for hours.

Took a mal out for a change and caught a few unmemorable ones. Then managed to find one slightly bigger (maybe waist or chest high) and carved towards shore, quick pump for speed and pulled into the closeout shorey. Huge level of stoke for what looked to be a nothing sort of surf.

Had another little dribble session at The Bra. Got out just before they hit the shark siren and closed the beach due to crowds.

Pumping waves again for my kid, one consistent right hander which was unreal. We stayed in and had the bank to ourselves for nearly an hour after they kicked everyone out.

Yeah, I nearly thought about going back out. It was actually quite civilised in the water. Fun little bank too. Major traffic jam with everyone leaving at once.

Just took my son again and didnt even bother getting in, was unbelievably crowded, looked like an asian wave pool. Insane.

Will any of it get up here, Nick.

Don't need much. It's been pushing 1 to 1½ ft for the last couple of weeks.

Fucking Hell. I paddled out this arvo against my better judgement into some woeful dribblers at a fairly packed Bondi. Overcast and grey with annoying little waves. Very shallow bank. Not too crowded to breech social distancing. The showers had black plastic over buttons but still worked. Ranger nearby didn't seem to mind.
It needs a solid swell to rip up the banks a bit.

trev you should be seeing a v inconsistent but definitely existent easterly swell over the next coupla days. Should be reinforced a bit by the weekend.

I saw a few funnish looking peaks with clean faces and no one on them. I had low expectations but thought I could at least get a few turns in.

Got across the rocks, got halfway out and then it started bucketing down with a stiff NEaster that would occasionally swing SE.
Rain drops were bouncing 6inches back off the water surface.
Lasted 20min.

Perfectly accurate, thanks.
And the wind is offshore early.
I might give the weekend a miss. Long weekend plus midnight Friday lifting of some travel restrictions will probably mean chaos.
But today was fun and tomorrow should be the same. 8)

Today's Sunshine coast surf report: 8/10. "Cracking waves today with 3- 5 ft waves and its coming in from the ENE - East direction so everywhere is getting some swell... clean and glassy all morning with light west breezes and a bit of NW now , but still so many great waves on offer...the lower tide saw smaller fast waves and as the tide came in the bigger peakier sets came into play... a very good morning of waves and still great now ...NW winds starting to increase so head to the open beachies , especially the ones that like a bit of north."
Was out there with Pridmore who penns the report yesterday (which I thought was better) and today drifted down to the next bank to see him just before I got out. He asked me if I'd only just paddled out. :-D-: I'd had my share picking off set waves.

Just looked at the Noosa cam...is there a cyclone swell someone didn't tell me about that is inbound? 100 or so peeps out there scrapping over knee high waves. Why would you do it to yourself?
