In mY SuRf BaG ...

Post by AlbyAl » Mon Dec 29, 2008 10:01 pm

In my surf bag that gets chucked in the back of the car every surf, there is:

4 blocks of wax, hard and soft, one in a plastic container with wax comb - different labels.
3 different tubes of sunscreen
2 tubes of zinc - one white, one 'flesh'
1 plastic scraper for rewaxing
2 spare leggies
2 spare bits of leggies cord
1 Solar Cure fibreglass patch kit
2 small pieces wet-and-dry sandpaper - one rough, one lite
1 tube Deep Heat cream
1 tube anti-inflammatory cream
1 tube contact glue
1 bottle mercurochrome
1 elastic knee bandage
1 packet bandaids
1 roll 'Duct tape'
6 sets + of FCS fins + 3 different central fins
12+ fricken FCS keys
1 beach towel
1 rashie - long sleeves
2 plastic nose tips in packets
1 drink bottle - water
1 plastic wetsuit bag
1 neoprene hood (WTF!)
1 smelly T shirt - grubby grey
1 spare piece Gorilla Grip
1 wetsuit - depending on season
1 partridge in a pear tree

Can anyone beat that?

you're better kitted out than the new zealand navy.

for apres surf, i keep a billy, tea, grid iron (bbq grill thing), and hand line in the back of the car.

The only thing missing from that glove box is … a long stretch of isolated road … a backpacker and this bloke …

No - I never went to Scouts.
I am not obsessive compulsive - just slack: I gradually accumulated all this fricken junk over the last few years when it should've been sifted and left in 'the surf cupboard'...

Now, in me surf cupboard, there's:

2 spare leggies, one big wave, one short
2 spare wetties, one damaged steamer, one springie
4 sets ...
5 pairs mouldy boardies ...
...
zzzzz

(New Years resolution coming)

Old Mutha Waxhead went to the cupboard
To fetch poor surfdog some swell ...
When she got there the cupboard was bare
But the points were still crowded as hell ...

Geez, I'm feeling a bit underdone.

I have one of those green woolies shopping bags with:
Wax x 1 (covered in sand, hair etc)
Wax comb
Rashie (ls and sl)
Steamer or springy or vest
boardies (the only ones I have)
1 tube of suncream
Towel
Sluggoes
Water bottle

I'm a simple guy

I have a plastic tub in the car with most of my surfin essentials and it usually contains
wax ( anywhere between 5 cakes and a tiny chunk )
wax combs
sun cream and zinks
couple of hats
booties ( just in case my son surfs somewhere rocky coz I still swim around with him sometimes, he is only ten )
2 or 3 leggies
leggie string ( usually from old boardies or shoe laces )
wetsuit vest
2 wet-shirts ( my sons stuff in here too now )
fcs fin wallet ( contains about 6 sets of fins and fin ratchet and keys )
duct tape
spare boardies and reg grundies ( sometimes )
binoculars ( sometimes in glove box )
2 x springy's or steamers ( depending on time of year )
paw paw cream ( great stuff for wetsuit rubbing or chaffe )
couple of platic bags for the wet stuff...

Yeah - Pridmore mentioned Paw Paw ointment - used to have that a while ago in the surf bag: that stuff's a 'must have' - cuts, rash, bites ... even on toast I suppose. Nice to know I've got more stuff to get.
