Nice pics. Looks like there might have been more swell down there than up my way.

One thing I can't understand is why those guys are wearing steamers. Water temp is over 21 at the moment and the wind wasn't that cold. Why???

Agree - was about to ask the same thing in general after surfing a lot the last few days. I mean, there's always the odd random or shivering grommet that you see in a steamer , but I've seen shed-loads of crew wearing them. I don't care what people wear, but WTFG?? A springy I understand, personally wear just boardies now apart from rashie or wettie top if cold wind or hard core sun. Just curious to know why...

Maybe some crew can only afford 1 wetty and still find just boardies too cold...?

Don't really get it myself hey...?

Maybe all these crew are ultra cool and wear those 1mm steamers created for summer?? But still, why the fark would you bother being restricted in rubber? Salty might be able to shed some more light on that one. Maybe it's a weight loss program - you'd be sweating your ring off in a springy let along a steamer!

But each to their own as they say... Can almost let fly-boy off the hook coz he farken surfs so good... and landed all but one of those airs too.

I hate steamers. Not enuff flavor and way too healthy. I much rather deep fried oily shit! Mmmmm, deep fried.

Nice shots mate. Great to have waves aye! Re:- the Japanese surfer sitting in his steamer on beach for half an hour in 30C heat. He's doing his bit for the Japanese GDP. Most neoprene comes from Japan remember

Cheers guys. The lighting was pretty damn average... cloudy as with the storm coming through and slight drizzle... every now and then the sun would pop up but was sweet FA.

Might have to chat to Butts and Maxi at the RS drinks to check out what equipment the pro's are using.
