Fong are you on northern beaches ATM :? ive always thought you lived up north, good to see you tackling the important issues :P

As for all the money spent, i believe Mr hicks has something to say on that aswell.
I'm gonna share with you a vision that I had, cause I love you. And you feel it. You know all that money we spend on nuclear weapons and defense each year, trillions of dollars, correct? Instead -- just play with this -- if we spent that money feeding and clothing the poor of the world -- and it would pay for it many times over, not one human being excluded -- we can explore space together, both inner and outer, forever in peace. Thank you very much. You've been great, I hope you enjoyed it.

Revolution, Im not saying that people should be quiet and take it. Just sick of all the mindless blinkered rhetoric from both sides.

The Dan wrote:Free trade yer. but what we got now aint even in the ballpark of free trade. Protectionist measures and subsities proping up industries that have a lot of political clout, government stimulation and welfare to said industries etc. That was my point about being fascist economies, because if you look at the correct definition of fascism it matches nicely in with the reality of most nations economic organisation.
Granted, some industries have sway with government and trade definitely aint free. But I think you will find that the level of protection, worldwide has fallen significantly over the past 20-30 years and Australia in particular is reaping the benefits from that.

Trade liberalisation is a tricky kettle of fish, as Nick pointed out, it really is in a countries best intrests (GDP) to reduce trade barriers, too bad pollies cant always see this, and restructuring does hurt!!!

Granted, the EU and the US ARE very protectionist, at the expense of, Sth America and Africa in particular, the only way this can be fixed is through meetings like APEC and the WTO - but key protests highlighting these issues can help - but only when they have a constructive message.

Bloody taxi I was in "blew" its radiator right in front of the TV crew
Scared the bejusus out of them (and me)
Quick interview, whether it gets played or not is unknown
My thoughts expressed, we knew about it, its here, no point griping about it 8)

Typical Taxi ride to work 15 minutes :)
This morning, 1h50mins :x And only because the COPS where controlling
the traffic "situation" :?

Farking stinky useless ferel protestors should be hit with the fire hose. Renta crowd once more, same faces earning their $150 tax free. Friggen called in a bogus bomb threat and placed a suspicious package where I was working (or meant to) today to lessen police numbers I guess. Cnuts owe me a day's pay, the only one due to me for 3 weeks   Build a time machine and return to 1968!!!
