Best fit 185 size and tall profile tyres (maybe yokohama 185 snow tread, ggod for us and abt $120 each or less), for sure NEVER engage 4WD on anything but mud, soft soil or sand otherwise the rear diff wind up and is cactus. When/ before you reach better (Hard) road then IMMEDIATELY disengage 4WD otherwise gearbox cark it. Subframe is galvanised so many years of work left.
Replace the CV fronts ASAP.
You can jack it up but the CV joints don't last long; but how exxy is it?
For better approach angles take off the front bar and maybe fit a "sand bumper" of plate alloy or similar, anyway locals are in the loop for cheap fixits. Maybe you get a sand anchor and tirfor or other mechanical type winch for recovery?
Have fun!

come to think of it though, my girlfriend's old man also has a honda dream ii and over the last ten years he's ridden it from lao cai on the border with china in the north to phu quoc island in the south and back - a dozen or so times. maybe i ought to start thinking of it as a motorbike after all, and go to a metal workshop to get board racks fitted.
