So coastalwatch/surfline is giving Wollongong Area max 2-3, mostly 1-2. Sydney similar. Port Stephens 6-8

yeah right. https://www.surfline.com/surf-report/on ... d6a7709380
this CT is the worst ever. They've gone to the most remote location in ages, and they're running the thing in 3-4' onshore slop. It's making Newcastle look like fcuken Indonesia.

Hang on......You posted today’s surf report not yesterday’s. I presume they can get it within the realm of possibilities most of the time.

Re: Just general surfing stuff
I don’t think this CT was the worst ever. At least, there were plenty of waves ridden. The worst are when there are average waves with long lulls. Though, I didn’t watch when it went more onshore later in the day

Apart from the Queenslanders they all seem to like the power of the waves over there too.

Good swell coming but shitty winds, do you reckon they might run it Lege?

Re: Just general surfing stuff
I didn't look pumping. Ok, smallish conditions.
Only 6 heats left to run. They will run on Tuesday, whatever the conditions
Tuesday’s forecast
Fading 6-10’ faces AM, easing. Light cross-offshore wind.
SWELL/SURF: SW swell drops off through the day but is still solid in the morning with sets running well overhead up to double overhead.

Rip Curl Rottnest Search
Updated: Sunday afternoon, May 23rd (Local Time)
Brief Overview:
Very large, stormy surf on Monday with strong onshore wind
Tuesday will see still solid but fading/dropping surf with much improved wind
Fun-size leftovers Wednesday with moderate to breezy offshore wind
Please note that surf size below is given in face height. Local scale is roughly half the size
TUESDAY 25th: Fading 6-10’ faces AM, easing. Light cross-offshore wind.
SWELL/SURF: SW swell drops off through the day but is still solid in the morning with sets running well overhead up to double overhead.
WIND: Favorable conditions with light E to ENE wind through the day. Sunny skies and pleasant weather
WEDNESDAY 26th: Fun 4-6’ faces AM on the dropping/leftover swell, easing PM. Offshore wind and clean
SWELL/SURF: Fading but still very rippable surf.
WIND: Moderate to breezy offshore NE wind through the day.
Swell/Surf Outlook
Solid swell is incoming on Monday with stormy conditions and very strong onshore wind through the day. The storm that is responsible for this swell has more than lived up to model guidance and we’ll see a pumping mix of short, mid and long period SW to SSW swell.
Conditions will improve significantly on Tuesday as high pressure settles over Western Australia. We may have some morning sickness first thing but surface conditions and overall surf quality should improve through the morning on the dropping tide and light cross/offshore wind from the E to ENE. Surf will drop off through the day from Monday’s peak, but it should still be larger than anything else we saw in the event window. Wednesday will continue to drop off as moderate to breezy offshore wind set in.

Re: Just general surfing stuff
That is a U.S. forecast, but it is funny, as Australia has been all metric for a very long time, Aussie surfers will keep describing surf heights in feet*. The foot is just such useful height unit.
* odder still, given the fanciful surfer foot (non-imperial) which is a rather flexible measure dependant on region.
** even non-surfing young people will use feet and inches to describe a person’s height at least half the time.

Big at Tama. About five guys out. Not a bad bank at the moment. Bondi pretty popular and closing out on the low tide.
