I saw this and had a couple of my own gull pics that suit this perfectly... I should have dug 'em out ages ago :)

The longest shutter speed with your camera is 4 seconds, so you should be able to do some night photography. Just get a small tripod or beanbag and use the 2 second timer and night mode, and see how you go. You wont be able to do long trails of light from car lights (need longer shutter speeds for that), but you should be able to get decent pics of well lit buildings and such...

Cheers bookster. is nightmode set to leave the shutter open for the full 4 seconds or can i use the custom settings to make it longer? also the camera has a shake reduction button.. does this effect the quality of the photo in any way?

haha, well spotted ive never noticed that. i guess you could say the same about your name  .. think about it! what i meant by that question is that if i was to use the shake reduction button, would it effect the quality of the shot?

Not sure- I'd suggest a bit of quality time spent with the owner's manual... then post the results here :)

Hey macca - you started this thread one year ago today.

I reckon you need to start another one - the page numbering is giving everyone the sh1ts.

Cool bird sequence BTW
