Scored some uncrowded punchy peaks at a rainforest clad cove yesterday.

I tried to come back up the ridge via an old track I used to know, and ended up stuck in a dense burrawang forest with lawyer vine (wait-a-while) as the sun set.
Had to retreat back to the beach and take the old track.
I was thinking I might have to spend the night in the rainforest, sheltering under the Gondwanan cycads.

the only way this could be possibly better is if you were naked.
The only way the story could be better if he told us how it lead to a blowjob.

First surf in two months after ear surgery. Headlands reef at 2 foot. Good to be back in the water.

Crowded and a bit bumpy. Managed one or two without company. A few more with company.
Last wave featured someone on my right going left and someone on my left going right plus someone paddling out in front.
Everyone else fell off and I decided it was time to call it a day when I got to shore.

A long wait for the occasional fun one. Nabbed a great little zippy one to finish.

Where’s your nearest non-terrible surf option, beans?

Every dog has its day, GST. I was quite happy with my little surf today all considered. Best part was I could sit wide and not compete for waves. As was documented in the news on the weekend Sydney Beaches are significantly wider than normal. Bondi has lots of okay little banks. Bronte and Tama have too much sand and so does The Bra. McKenzies has been packed lately.

At my age I’m not driving for an hour to get skunked by a bunch of locals. School holidays at the moment so most of the coast is packed.

While it does seem rather fruitless to persist in surfing the substandard dribble on offer in Bondi, its fantastic that the Beans makes the effort. Theres heaps of older people who don't, and at 67, he can kook out where and whenever he likes.

Agreed. I bodysurf more than I surf at Bondi nowadays it’s just not worth it. Get away with the boys on a surf trip occasionally and froth on decent waves

I couldn't imagine surfing crowded close-outs in my dotage.

Driving around in traffic looking for a park.

absolutely miserable stuff.

That’s pretty much it. It’s for the exercise and being in the water as much as anything. I actually think it’s part of my natural regression into kookdom. I’m back to being a grommet happy to ride a foamy in little waves every day with enthusiasm. Any useless prick can get a wave at Bondi. Plus I’m fit enough to catch a few when it’s good.

Pererenan; which could easily be mispronounced perineum and is somewhat like a place between genitals.

But it was fun set up of a-frame-like peaks at sunrise with an intermittent but muscular head high swell and only a handful of early risers.
Made a few heart starter drops, some curvy wackable walls and after a few on the head felt a bit gassed… so called it quits but stoked nonetheless.
Borrowed a 6’ Pyzel ghost from a quiver of boards a Japanese fellow guest at the hotel had. Noice.

Good stuff Skip.
What was the water quality like?

Ulus is a bit of a mess. Head and a half size swell, 20 out at racetrack, only 1 or 2 chancing the other breaks.

Only head high where I surfed but two 8 wave sets at near double that at about 9:30am cleared the water for a while.

Water quality? Who knows, it always looks OK except when it rains heavily for a few days.
