Obviously Geoff McCoy is a regular Realsurf lurker

Look again, you will find he was not riding from the tail.

Re: The Good Luck A Number One McCoy Thread
Well his surfing is shithouse. Tic-tacking about way out of the shoulder and corky above water. And he’s meant to be a long time disciple and key exponents the whole McCoy board thing, according to Geoff also.
The only McCoy boards and decent surfing on them I’ve ever witnessed is all on 90s era McCoys. Today they’re kookie beanbags surfed poorly

Christ when are you cnuts going to give up on that shit.
Re: The Good Luck A Number One McCoy Thread
The 90’s McCoy’s were sleek, still had rocker and some hidden volume. Today’s better equivalent would be from the likes of Mark Rabbidge and select others.

They work amazingly well for me Nick. And every now and then I can do things on them that other sufers paddle over and comment on. They take big drops better than any other board that I've ridden and get looser with speed. If your feet are where they are supposed to be they will go vertical with ease and power through roundhouse cutbacks.
They are a bit slow in average surf, but the Astron Zot (as a quad) improved that fault significantly.
I've owned hundreds of boards, including lots of customs from world class shapers, but I've probably ridden McCoys for about a quarter of my surfing life.
This month three people who I've surfed with a lot here commented that my boards are working well for me, and another three who I didn't know said they like my board.

Sounds like they are noticing the springiness of the loaded dome.Cranked wrote: ↑Wed Mar 28, 2018 1:58 pmMcCoys?Nick Carroll wrote: ↑Wed Mar 28, 2018 1:17 pmChrist when are you cnuts going to give up on that shit.

Re: The Good Luck A Number One McCoy Thread
Most of his surfing is 30 percent above and 30 percent below the fall line.
It's the bottom 20 percent of the wave face where you get the compression to load up the dome, which gives projection and speed coming out of a bottom turn. .
Re: The Good Luck A Number One McCoy Thread
As far as I can judge his back foot is at least 12-16" from the tail, much too far forward for what is probably a 17" tail.
My foot is 4-6" from the tail (usually fully up against the kicker) if I'm going to do something, and I have a wider stance. There's no way he's going to be able to do anything from where he is, just that up and down thing is all.
Shearer has posted a McCoy doing the best cutback you've ever seen. The guys name escapes me.

And if he’s not surfing the board correctly then why on God’s green earth does Geoff have the vid linked on his website ?! 🤪carvin marvin wrote: ↑Wed Mar 28, 2018 4:31 pmMost of his surfing is 30 percent above and 30 percent below the fall line.

You idolised a mini mal riding brazo surfing in a very similar for years.
Re: The Good Luck A Number One McCoy Thread
That's a good memory key for the correct stance on these 2 different types of boards.Cranked wrote: ↑Wed Mar 28, 2018 9:45 amJust so you HPSB surfers know where you stand in the McCoy world view:
FRONT FOOT PRESURE - OLD FASHIONED MODERN SHORTBOARD
Front Foot 60% - Back Foot 40
BACK FOOT PRESSURE - FUTURISTIC NUGGET DESIGN
Front Foot 10% - 90% Of Weight On The Back Foot When Turning
