I ordered the Isurus 3/3 zipless.
Won't get me through deepest winter but should be good for shoulder seasons.

Re: that wetsuit discussion...
I think steve must be quite new to surfing so doesn’t appreciate how amazing modern wetsuits are. My current 5/3 is more flexible and nicer to surf in than my 1980s summer suits, my current 3/2 way warmer than my 1980s winter suits. Wetsuit rub is essentially consigned to history. Not only that, the democratisation of surfing means more choice at insane value for the canny shopper.PeepeelaPew wrote: ↑Sat Jun 24, 2023 1:53 pmI have never struggled with any wetsuit except when I needed a shoulder reconstruction. It’s the golden era of wetsuits yet steve is forever carrying like the princess and the pea. It’s a real shame
Re: that wetsuit discussion...
I'm not entirely sure why someone who hates cold water and whose local barely gets below 20 degrees water temp in the middle of winter even comments on wetsuits.

I guess if he’s new to surfing he may just want to fit in?

I appreciate your expertise Godsave, but as someone who has surfed Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia, Tasmania, Northern California, Oregon, Washington State and Alaska I do question that assertion.godsavetheking wrote: ↑Sat Jul 08, 2023 6:35 pmI think steve must be quite new to surfing so doesn’t appreciate how amazing modern wetsuits are.
Modern rubber is no doubt more flexible, but I do question whether they have increased the primary function of a wetsuit which is warmth.
Some modern 3/2's are positively chilly I suspect that is because modern, lighter, more flexible neoprene is not as good as insulating body warmth and reducing heat loss as the older, denser neoprenes.

Steve, it must be at least 20 years since North Cal, Oregon, Alaska etc.steve shearer wrote: ↑Sun Jul 09, 2023 10:39 amI appreciate your expertise Godsave, but as someone who has surfed Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia, Tasmania, Northern California, Oregon, Washington State and Alaska I do question that assertion.godsavetheking wrote: ↑Sat Jul 08, 2023 6:35 pmI think steve must be quite new to surfing so doesn’t appreciate how amazing modern wetsuits are.
Similar timeframes for SA as well, and Gnarloo area isn’t particularly cold. And I’ll assume Victoria was Bells at Easter so prove 3/2 territory.
When was the last time you were in properly cold water? And were wetsuits modern then?
So when was the last time you had surfed properly cold water?
