No wonder Godsave had to give up surfing.

Locally it’s way better than it used to be. The nearest break to where I grew up had a shit pipe running out that basically used to pump raw sewage into the sea. Not uncommon to be paddling past bobbing turds, toilet paper etc. Only got ill a handful of times, but the proper projectile vomming/liquid shites when you did. Some bloke reckoned he got hep a out there, but I’m not too sure about that
Gunnamatta on the vicco MP has a break called Pumping Station. Was once like that, but it was always very inticing when on. I never got sick, but plenty did

I often wonder how many cases of Bali Belly are actually from swimming in the ocean, and not from the food.

Dump swimming is a funny track, by the photographer Jon Frank, from the litmus soundtrack about surfing in turds at voodoo.

Mate of mine got an infected abscess in his throat from surfing at Balian and swallowing water. Got on the plane back to Aus and it burst. He was in hospital on a drip for weeks back home.

First surf I had in the UK was at Boscombe Pier in pissing rain, howling onshore, crowded AF.
it was the day of the year apparently.

No-one told me the stormwater drain was close enough to raw sewage.

It was coming out both ends within an hr.

Nusa Dua, Intimidating set up and a paddle fest, but yes.
I don’t know if there are any sewer treatment plants in Bali, but there are a lot of huge multi story resorts over that side, especially south of Nusa dua.
I know it was common to see a local squatting in the creek on the walk down to Impossibles after parking the bike, but that never really bothered me too much as that part of the Bukit isn’t built up like the east side.

Fair enough - and also acknowledging mm - but, isn't a massive estuary just there flowing all the flotsam and jetsam directly? Gotta die of something I suppose

Risk assessment means I'm not too unhappy with the odd local turd dropper on the Bukit in dry season

Fun little waves on the same bank they ran the Winter Classic on last weekend.
Uncrowded and coffee afterwards at what used to be Brian Weir's surfshop at Cotton Tree.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Well all that extra settled sand I’m guessing won’t have had a chance to surf on the open beaches as will get moved from this big South
