You don't name check your sports biggest draw and then put him out to pasture if you can just give him a Wildcard and keep him there.
Hence, surfing will never be a sport you can take seriously as a competitive sport. Its performance art.

Serena Williams got a wild card into last year’s Wimbledon. She was 40 years old with a ranking of 1,208.

Surfing is the poor man’s tennis. Too true.

Not a full year wild card though. I’d be more than happy for KS to get selected WCs. He’s bumped off the first Moroccan surfer to ever qualify.

Woman drowned after getting swept out at froggies.
Think there was kids involved, maybe another trying to save the kid incident?

Honestly, why even play around at a beach like froggies in swells like this?

I was heading over to D'Bah earlier today and saw the family trudging up the hill, lugging all their picnic gear. The cheese n kisses was walking past Froggies some time later and witnesses the drama as it unfolded. It was pretty hectic.

The strangest thing happened when she turned to say something to a lady and her family standing near her ... the woman said "can you please move away, we'er trying to pray" ... fucken seriously.
The moving finger writes and having writ moves on ... now all thy piety nor wit shall lure it back to cancel even half a line ... nor all thy tears wash out a single word of it.

Priorities.
Members of a gender reveal party jumped in to bring the kids in.

First time a gender reveal party has been of use. Good job.

I would love it if Occy would identify as a woman and get back in competition.

I was watching the surf the other day……. deciding whether to go out or not and the Lifeguard was on the loudspeaker telling the surfers to move south. The take off was fairly close to the flags but everyone was going left anyway. He kept going for quite a while singling out a couple of people in particular. Pretty debatable on exactly how close they were given the angle of the flags to the beach. Bugger all swimmers.

While I’m watching from the car park this group of old ducks going for a morning walk hear all the commotion and stop. They are heatedly discussing the situation and pointing as they watch and one old dear starts waving her arms in the air to direct the surfers south. She keeps doing this for a while and there ends up being quite a few people engaged in this altercation…..until the Lifeguard gives up and drives up the beach on his quad bike.
