I think back in "the 60's" , it was more a case of some had more acute powers of observation than others. Aside from scientists and statisticians , few people indulged in research before the information super highway was built.

Well if you are claiming that copying the Coke Font is a sign of acute powers of observation then it's obviously sheer genius for MR to copy the Superman Logo and Rabbit copying Warner Bros. He had to desist as I remember after threats of copyright infringement.

It's all just marketing . MR , Rabbit and the Bronzed Aussies were all very good at marketing themselves, and surfing had a new global pro-circuit to sell.......The McCoy marketing was always very effective , even in the early days .

Quite correct in a technical sense.....but semantics on an internet forum is pretty much a road to nowhere. I was more referring to the google phenomena , with it's push button search engines......or is that re-search engines ?

Just traded two McCoy Nuggets (7' Surftech and a 7'2 TSA FX) for a 7' TSA poly Nugget.

Why? It fits better with the rest of my McCoys. So now its 6'8, 7', 7'4 and 8' Nuggets. I wanted a poly because they are better in the wind blown chop (thanks Steve) that is reasonably frequent at a more south facing break I often surf.

I've never seen any footage of someone, other than Cheyne, riding McCoys well. And I've never seen anyone riding them in the flesh at all. So yeah, feedback would be good.

If you watch any recent videos of Geoff talking about boards you will see age is really catching up on him. Maybe a good part of why he is selling off his collection.
