Thinning filler resin

Post by WANDERER » Thu Feb 07, 2013 10:19 pm

I want to lay down a very thin coat of filler resin in some patches on an old D-fin mal that I've been "un-restoring", (ie sanding off all the extra resin that some other pillock has put on there to make the board look pretty, which in the process made an already heavy log even heavier. I'm not interested in looking at it, I'm interested in riding it) I knew when I started sanding that i was going to sand through to the cloth unavoidably in some spots, I'm not worried about that other than I want to cover it back over with a very thin layer of filler to keep it smooth.
So what I want to do is thin out the filler, what are your suggestions, and how do i go about it, acetone? styrene? any hints?

just gloss it and then cut the gloss back with 380.

Gloss is dribbly already.

You can still use the filler resin, just work or sand it, more.
