similar spring to last year, a great late run of south swells with a hint of east in them.

I hear you.steve shearer wrote: ↑Tue Sep 19, 2017 7:13 pmI heard this bloke on the radio the other day; specialist in mental health and he was talking about some reasons for depression being seasonal and related to disrupted circadian rhythms amongst other things.
Immediately the penny dropped. Soon as spring starts I feel this almost insane restlessness and general sense of ill-being. That gets super-charged as soon as Grand Final weekend passes and daylight savings starts and the spring/summer world of endless hot windy afternoons descends.
i was reading how strong winds can aggravate and even cause anxiety and other mood disorders. It never spoke of wind direction. but there's something about a strong, sustained northerly that gives me a restlessness and changes my mood. and it's much more than just not surfing. 1 or 2 days of N winds, and i resign myself that I'm not surfing i find other things to do, or get super productive at work etc
... but once we get into a sustained run of a week or more. i start to fray a little. I notice driving around I'm less tolerant of asshats. my neighbours on one side who are nothing but self-absorbed pain in the butts, become this all together unbearable menace. i get super itchy feet to surf travel where it almost obsesses my every thought etc etc
Maybe i might come down and fish with you shep.

Riding a bike is something your average 4 year old does with no problems whatsoever Loof.
I guess that is why it is so popular with adult learners who need a "sport" with a skill base a pre-schooler can master.

Anyone can ride a bike Stephen, its where we ride them that splits the men from the boys. As I said, you haven't got the ticker for it - it's not a derogatory thing, some people just wern't built for intense cardio, stamina and endurance.

What, around Sydney's eastern Suburbs?
Every second middle aged cube monkey cnut seems quite able to don the lycra, get himself ripped off at a bike shop on a ridiculously over-specced status symbol of a bike and get the job done Loof.......so I'd take that exceptionalism argument and flush it down the toilet, stat.
