vic it has been amazing this year how closely the seasons have correlated with the official dates. Literally 1st march and we went from a hot dry flat summer to a wet, surf filled autumn.
June 1 and winter started on cue with a cold southerly from a tasman low.
From my experience, Winter up here starts around July 10 and goes for 2-3 weeks.

I was agreeing with you foamy.
Like swivel, I know a tomato is a fruit, but I don't put it in a fruit salad.

for christs sake.
lets hear a few surf forecasts for your areas this winter. Me, in Sydney: mediocre, mix of long sth groundswells and some east swells from the tradewind band, at least until mid July. Nothing over 6' pretty much. Failure of the ECL season. Light rain here and there.

Avocado is too. I have had it in fruit salads in Sri Lanka and ice cream.

SST lag. Air temp lag. Just into 4/3 down here. No booties or hooded vest yet, but when that starts, theyre on until the equinox. Skinks, offy and me

tons and tons of headhigh to OH Point and breakwall surf with mostly offshore winds, shallow sandbars turning this into very hollow waves .........another similar El Ninoesque year to 2015.
Big shark problem.

Yeah, water still not too bad, but air temps on the w'end were icy in the morning. Near on zero wind though so no wind chill. 3/2 & booties would have been ok. Booties just for the ground though. Feet were freezing until hitting the water

I have heard the lefts are good down you way and very popular. Can't bring myself to buy a scallop pie.
