Bugger that. Wastes a day. I've always flown overnight. Leave the luggage at the hotel. Have a full day and a last dinner somewhere in Waikiki and pick up the luggage and catch the bus back to the airport.
So, did you go to the North Shore?

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

You can probably do both. You don't normally fly out till about midnight/ 1 am.
trev Aussie flights mostly leave Oahu in the mornings these days

bumfluff the wind is never fcuken south ...or hardly ever. Pipe works in a trade wind just fine. Every god damn clip you've ever seen of it has been in a trade wind.

ah whatever ya missed it. Better luck next time.

No, I'm on honeymoon. I feared that if I went out once it would turn into a surf trip and I promised the wifey I wouldn't surf the whole time.

I will be back within a year or two and THAT one will be a surf trip.

Gotcha... I'm only going by the Wannasurf website. But thanks for that i'll know for next time.

I checked the cam this morning and it was only about 3ft. Not worth getting a car for so stayed in Waikiki.

We last came through in 2010.
Got in the habit of doing it that way in 2002 and liked it.
Not sure why. I HATE night flying - can't see anything, boring. I can sleep but my wife can't, although the last couple of times we've had half empty planes so were able to stretch out over three or four seats.
I prefer flying during the day to have something to look at out of the window - especially to London.

I hate night flying too - I can't sleep on planes. If I could lay flat I would sleep but can't sitting upright.

It's forecast for 10 - 12 ft on Saturday. I leave tomorrow.

FML

However it has been a sick two weeks and I could easily fall in love with this place.

Yeah. I love it too. My wife doesn't understand. Reckons she could just as easily be in North Qld with a lot of the scenery.

What? you went to Hawaii in your honeymoon and didn't surf?.

That is the only reason I chose Hawaii for my honeymoon and timed it for the swell. Get your priorities right son.

Right about now it might be worth pointing out that Natho's marriage didn't last.

I had one of my honeymoons in Hawaii. Pipe was huge, someone got washed out to sea during the sunset contest.
I still surfed, somewhere much smaller
