Summer 2013-'14

So far it's been a pretty good start.

The east coast has flared, Vicco, SA & Tassie all had fun, consistent waves. A big bombing swell for Marg's but onshores.

What's our storm season going to be like? I kinda got an ominous feeling about a few gnarly cyclones up north.

Jan-Feb are going to be scorchers.

Feck me, Summer is currently turning out worse than Spring was!!!!

It's been 1.5-2 weeks of woeful conditions and I can't see any real end in sight with no node of the LWT or the MJO pushing out into the Tasman!!!

Yeh, not too much happening in QLD... some people say New Year's day has a tendency to deliver. Hoping they're right.

My arse Braithy.

We had a decent run of northerlies in late November but the swell dried up.

Now we've got swell but we've got southerlies :x

Admittedly I surfed 4 times last week but it wasn't anything of quality.

Hey Don.

There's been some really sneaky, super fun ones really early down my way. Clean & Glassy. Not a whole of push, but some excellent shape. Bring some foam.

And Grooter, my dear friend. What the bloody hell does your arsehole have to do with anything?

Dear Mr Braithwaite ... everyone knows that there is never any surf "down your way" ... stop getting peoples hopes up ... its unchristian like behaviour. Wonky closeout straight-handers is what you get around here. D'bah is where it happens ... its a mecca that place.

surfed bluewater wedges by myself every day for two weeks. And not a Brazilian or tinpot dictator or some cnut attempting exclusive access in sight.
did see a few SUPS though.

I think it's time we strung up Tom Carroll, Gerry Lopez and laird Hamilton and neutered them publicly for bedevilling the surfing public with this scourge.

Likely to be aqua green upwelled wedges by the end of this week.

yeah Braithy, the grass is waist high in the front yard, the chooks are running wild. Time to get the estate in order for the summer invasion.

We've missed you dearly.

Anyway not a lot to report ... but whilst you were gone Natho's been enquiring about an appropriate time to pop around for his chicken dicking.

Boomshanka.

Mmmm, long range models looking a wee bit better, although with some highly active tropical activity progged across the top end, model reliability is questionable this far out.

it's hard not to condemn in the strongest possible language this current abomination DonW, that being a stunning and unprovoked reversal back to northerlies and cold upwellings: Fcuk off and Die Ekman!....still, old hands counsel caution and beg for peace. The northerlies can backfill sandbars nicely and in the bigger picture this hot(land),cold(ocean) signal can be rightly seen as precursor, premonition and portent.

Personally I hope the currently invading workadaddies and paunchy wage slaves and all their ultra-cosseted sprogs get royally skunked through the Xmas/New year Period, vowing never to leave the safety and culture of their urban bubbles again.
