Re: Summer 2013-'14
Funnily enough a certain eastern suburbs secret spot has been rolling right along this summer. Excellent timing since I'm not going anywhere these holidays.

Tell me about it ... I've been meaning to buy a set for some time now.steve shearer wrote:good news for those with S swell magnets on hand
Doesn't even have to be the S model either ... just a decent set of all-round swell magnets will do.

Re: Summer 2013-'14
strong Siberian high activity should give us the cross-equatorial flow we need to finally get this season kicked off after the false start late Nov/earlyDec.
warm anomalies off Southern NSW and stretching SE/NW from SE of the South Island NZ up into the South Pac have prevented the strong high formation through the lower Tasman and SE of NZ which is needed to fire up the tradewind belt.
Jan and not a single tradewind swell so far this summer.
I know I false called it a week ago but the pattern finally looks to be breaking.

Has that got to do with the start of the monsoon looking like it's about to form really soon?steve shearer wrote:strong Siberian high activity should give us the cross-equatorial flow we need to finally get this season kicked off after the false start late Nov/earlyDec.

It started in late Nov/early Dec with a strong flurry then stalled and reversed back to this shithouse dry Nino/spring pattern.
It should splutter back to life in the next two week period.

I'll second that shithouse dry Nino/spring pattern!!!! Fecking worst start to summer I can ever remember!!!steve shearer wrote:It started in late Nov/early Dec with a strong flurry then stalled and reversed back to this shithouse dry Nino/spring pattern.
Yeah but winds up our way Steve look fecking atrocious for the better part of this week, so tradewind swell will also be accompanied by onshore tradewinds!!!steve shearer wrote:It should splutter back to life in the next two week period.
Interesting developments progged for up north in the long range however so hopefully this kicks Huey in the cnut!!!
One can be guaranteed that the swell will pump from January 18th-28th!!!

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

It's Alakaboo!!!
How was your holidays mate?
We're lucky where we are, right in the little valley from Currumbin hill and the creek.
All the storm cells seem to drift straight around us. A bit of wind, a bit of rain. I actually backed my car out into it and washed it. lol

Hols were good, Braithy.
Spent 2 weeks away from computers and phones, reconnected with the ocean.
There are a lot of hi-vis bellends in dualcabs and big boats on day release from the mines this time of year, never seen so much arse-fcukery at the boatramp.
If you can't back a shiny new $90k boat down a busy ramp in one shot you should forfeit it to the nearest bloke who can, Lord of the Flies style
Still sort of on holidays till Feb with a few little camping trips planned, looks like Straddie burnt down while I was away so that's thrown a spanner.
