Re: Spring. How's it lookin?
Every year without fail. Be it El Nino, La Nina or La bamba, they predict a more active cyclone season. And it never happens.

As for the strengthening La Nina, based on my limited understanding of the NOAA data (and forecasts), the CFS ensemble mean forecast of the Nino 3.4 SST anomalies is currently predicted to reach -2 by the end of this year. Historically, the years that we've previously seen a La Nina this strong are as followsmustkillmulloway wrote:wat u think don....could this current weather be the begginin of a more significant summer to come

1956 - 6 TC's within the Coral Sea
1974 - 8 TC's within the Coral Sea
1976 - 7 TC's within the Coral Sea
1988 - 4 TC's within the Coral Sea
So based on historical data, if we see the La Nina strengthen as forecast, could certainly be a wild and woolly summer!!!

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Sorry to hear that Steve. No one else seems to have any troubles accessing it. I'll be sure to get the guys to take a look at the site to see if they can see why you're the only one who can't access it?steve shearer wrote:Can't seem to access that site Don.

Re: Spring. How's it lookin?
Already easily the best spring in living memory.
South swell that lasted for a full week after the main swell departed, now a bit of nor-east wind swell with some prospects for that to continue, maybe a little south swell next week.
After 5 days of swell it had already surpassed the best spring of the last 15 years.
Even SE qld has got a wave.

fong, the very particular place we were chatting about won't be working. it needs at least twice the swell. more of a 'once every 2 years' kind of option. I've been going there 29 years and only surfed it twice, only heard of it being good about 5 other times.
got a brother nearby at the moment, he just told me it's rubbish, weaker than expected.
doesn't mean it's not worth a trip, plenty of other things to keep you occupied. pack some plastics, plenty of lizards about. pale pink, white or orange, with light jig heads, on the run-out, about halfway up.
if you do decide to do some discovery, pack some heavier spinning gear, there are some bigguns near the end of the track.
and the spot just nearby where you've camped before with the trailer is okay, with a bit of board beneath you.
cryptic enough for you, Headlander?
