Spring. How's it lookin?

What surfer doesn't care about the weather? Who hasn't predicted the arrival of a new swell? Do all of it here!

Donweather is there any relief on the horizon from these easterly winds on the sunny coast?

Fluffy, unfortunately it looks as though Huey is having the last laugh as I thought this morning would have offered some relief from the onshore winds up there, particularly around the Maroochy stretch but its no go this morning as well. Even the Goldy is crap this morning too.

Overnight cloud cover isn't allowing the overnight land temps to drop enough to allow the land/sea temp differential to get more than 4 deg or so, hence not enough temp gradient to get those offshores stronger than the local onshore synoptic winds.

If you can get the overnight land temps down to around 19 deg or so, you should then be on the money (most locations on the coast this morning didn't get down below 22 deg).

Funny, I always thought wind was created by pressure differences??

What do you think creates the pressure differences Don?

Not really.
The unequal distribution of solar energy (aka heat) is the clear source.

The sun is the primary source, so not chicken and egg in this case.

Heating, convection and coriolis effect, pressure gradients, wind.

No sun, no wind.

hhmmm.

Good point Spoon. And what about when it's windy at night??????

I think I will go with the theory that the sun is still up there mate, and that it might be just hidden behind the clouds.

Will check tomorrow and get back to you.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Would like to come to Mark's board testing day Trev, but will depend on what else my social coordinator has in store that weekend and what the swell forecast is looking like.

As for surfing next, let's just put it this way, I'll be looking very closely at what that surface trough does late into the weekend!!!

Speaking of which....anyone know of a location up the Sunny Coast that loves a massive new moon high tide!!!!
