GFS has got this system looking pretty good as it squeezes up against the semi stationary high pressure system to the east of NZ in what appears to be a rather active (and late) monsoon trough stretching out from the Gulf into the SPCZ.
GFS is also progging a secondary system late in it's forecast period as well.
Ahhhh, Autumn in SE Qld, feck I love it!!!

Here's my thoughts Digger. This forecast was compiled a few days ago, but still fits in reasonably well with the latest models, albeit that there's still some serious divergence between GFS and EC with respect to the tropical low between New Cal and Fiji.
Local synoptic winds are likely going to force the Easter masses into the sheltered points so don't expect any secluded locations for a wave!!!
