Quiksilver Pro 2010

What's your thoughts on the forecast for the Quiky Pro (Steve, Nick, Bastardos et al)?

I notice on the long range EC charts it's progging a series of low pressure systems from the top of the Coral Sea out/down towards the SPCZ. Fingers crossed another TC Rene or something similar spins off from one of these puppies.

Most of the event will be held at D'Bah

I see EC's progging a compact semi stationary TC/ex TC to be located to the E/NE of NZ later this weekend, right on the limit of our swell window mind you. :?

GFS is not even entertaining the idea as yet, but fair to say EC has been running with this idea for sometime now.

Worth noting that NOGAPS is sitting on the fence (having a half way bet between GFS and EC).

All the usual hullubaloo has been erected at snapper ... but another large marquee has been set up on the edge of the helipad at D'bah ... facing slightly towards the tweed river wall section of the beach. There has been a contestable wave breaking there of late ... but it ain't no snapperesque superwank. The bank at snapper is working ... it just requires the addition of one small ingredient ... the appropriate swell and weather conditions ... it ain't over till its over.
The moving finger writes and having writ moves on ... now all thy piety nor wit shall lure it back to cancel even half a line ... nor all thy tears wash out a single word of it.

Are CW forecasting this event again this year? I see their logo is on the Quiky Pro website as a sponsor.

I tell ya what. If the latest EC comes to fruition, and the Quiky Pro organisers get it right, the last few days of the waiting period of the comp could well see some fecking epic swell!!!!

Latest GFS and EC runs have converged somewhat, which is good news for some solid swell towards the end of the Quiky Pro waiting period!!! Let's just hope they don't finish it in the poo wind swell around mid this week.
