Re: post your modern day sickness

Makes sense. I guess if it was the same thickness as a regular glass tail it'd be as stiff as. Does that help cutties flow better from beginning to end without that sometimes need to 'rejig' it a bit midway? Well ya know grimly enough I think the need to re-jig cutties halfway through can arise fro...

Re: post your modern day sickness

Nick, what's the benefits of the carbon flextail? I'm guessing less flex so better hold in bottom turns? And better for down-the-line speed? Well the carbon's about 6mm thick and it flexes a fair bit more than the foam-glass board body. I haven't ridden one enough to be able to say much, but it fee...

L - R 6'1" Warner (Brett was off form when he shaped this one. Never quite got it to work for me.) 6' Al Merrick - great board but I need more form to ride this one. 6' Al Merrick T. Knox. My everyday board. More conservative than the one above. 5'10" McCoy All Rounder. Loved it when I first got it ...

Re: surf rage. solved. apparently...

I'd just like to say thank you for continuing to ride a short board. I really respect you for it. Don't take the fact that I will be scoring heaps more waves and having heaps more fun when its not really up to standard as in any way compromising my support for you sitting there looking bored and fr...

Re: surf rage. solved. apparently...

Surfing has to be one of the most frustrating sports. Period. There are so many variables that have to come together to deliver an epic session. When I get back from a surf and my wife asks me how it was I invariably answer: tide was sh1t, wind was sh1t, banks were sh1t, crowds were sh1t, swell was...

Re: Engineering good surf, another approach?

Dyson bladeless fans, except huge, that automatically activate when the presence of on/cross-shore winds is detected. Of course, blowing back out to sea. Possible to reorient these to react with the on-shore to create a cyclone and thereby create swell. When the swell's created, reposition the fans ...

Re: Engineering good surf, another approach?

Massive submerged hydraulic blades, not unlike flaps on an aeroplane, that, when the wind shifts on- or cross-shore, are raised above the water surface to deflect the wind upwards and across the land mass. Lasers running the length of the blades will ensure that the blades keep a predetermined dista...

And Shearer has completely ruined my doughnut nostalgia by bringing the American cliche into it.

Re: surf rage. solved. apparently...

I do have fond memories of pineapple glazed doughnuts. Especially in 2nd form when Marty van Rhoon (younger brother of Marty Rhone) grabbed one from my hand in the middle of the quadrangle. Although, that's not really a fond memory, just a memory.

I just had one then. I reckon the ones from Donut King are the best. The icing tastes like real fake strawberry.
