No you'll need a 3/2 steamer. Maybe in Feb you'll get a few days when you could wear a spring suit or board shorts and a vest.

The contracts for drum lines and net operators require them to be cleared every 48 hours at least so it's not all that likely sharks see their captured friends.

The smell of death lingers. Sharks enter those locations into their shark sat navs and avoid them.

I wonder of the netting and baiting work the same way. Thanks mate, local friend tells me I can drive to New Plymouth area and that plenty of spots can be offshore on the SW wind, which makes sense when you look at the map. Apparently it is not a long drive, under an hour.

Sweet. Though finding a cab that'll fit them is a hassle. Urbn surf will probably have an on demand shuttle going in the warmer months.

Wave rich area but the winds will be a problem mostly SW. Albatross point is the only place thats offshore but they have snipers on the hills.

Were there many parking spots? Asking for a humoon People will come just for the parking. The Urbn surf car park is huge - also its on the edge of an airport/industrial zone with plenty of street parking to absorb overflow. So you could drive down from Sydney for a morning surf if you liked driving...

You can see it from the road. There are some big rocks out front I could stand on to get a pretty good view.
