Re: The Morning of the Earth DVD
you haven't been to Byron famers market lately. every hipster is there shooting kale on a Red cam at a thousand frames a second. :-D-: That's actually brilliant. Like Warhol's Empire State movies, but emptier, more boring. High fibre, organic food rendered utterly devoid of substance and meaning in...

I can feel water getting in. Very unhappy. I chose it over the e bombs i've had previous 3 years because it fel...

Re: Ask Carroll
Nick, off the topic of gay bashing but still related. Is surfing similar to an addiction like drugs, sex or porn?

Re: Ask Carroll
Ha ha Roy, very enjoyable rant. But you're overstating the intelligence of surf brand marketing. They aren't very good at it, especially compared to the big global marketers like Unilever or Coke for example, who are far more calculated, persuasive and successful. The currently unwatchable pro surf ...

Honestly? Do any of you have wives, or should I say partners, god knows what kind of obscene couplings have to be accounted for, who will happily drive endlessly along infuriatingly narrow country lanes in the relentless summer rain on the off chance of you finding an offshore moment in some obscure...

Surfed Lahinch on a rental mal once. Was with the mrs, not a surf trip. Saw many waves, corners, angles, possibilities. Wind changed constantly. Looks like putting in the hours would pay off. Not ideal for non surfing companion relations

Re: East Coast of England
Ha! Gtsq, are you worried about tightly held uk surf spots getting exposed and all 23 regular realsurf readers packing their bags and crowding out the uk's pristine, virgin surf zones??
I'll throw in broadstairs as well as joss bay. And yes I have surfed there, if u can call it that

Re: East Coast of England
East of London means Joss Bay. It does get waves, very cold. Needs a strong blow down the North Sea, small swell window, doesn't sound like yr in a position to try and get it ( and honestly it's not worth it ).
Wales is nearer than Cornwall / Devon to London. And has many good options..

Re: Hypto Krypto voted "board of the year"
hey philw how they feel is what counts. I think the volume for and against thing is a big jerk off, to me it's both very important and infinitely variable based on a vast range of things, learning about it is a big part of any keen surfer's development and arguing against measuring it is just silly...

Re: Hypto Krypto voted "board of the year"
No, you're actually the first person to ever consider the variables in a scientific manner. Sorry, couldn't resist. oh well, i didn't think i was the first, just curious. there's so much bs talked about what features of surfboards actually 'do' as an oppose to how they feel. but those sway locks fo...

Re: Hypto Krypto voted "board of the year"
volume of what? take two boards with identical shape and identical volume. one is tuflite, the other is standard PU (let's say a denser, heavier foam). the tuflite will be much more buoyant, probably a lot lighter and feel very different. rocker and planing surface probably have as much effect on pa...
