Re: Modern Planing hulls
on another note - due to the parallel outline, they ride a LOT longer than a conventional shape. So don't be afraid to go super short.

Re: Modern Planing hulls
you should be fine. I've shaped and ridden heaps of similar style ones. I love the evo style for 1-3ft surf. Anything with a bit more power i preferred my older vanguard style one, as you get more bite in the tail with the swallow. i'm normally around 5'9 and 90kg, and ride 5'4 x 19 1/4 x 2 1/2 arou...

Re: Quiver thread
My current, quiver. Most self shaped 5'4 x 19.25 - simlar to a tomo evo. Only had it a month or so. Loving it from 1-4 ft. 5'4 x 20.5 grovel monster. Super wide diamond tail, concave deck and bevel rails. Really fun in up to 3ft, using it less though with the above 5'4 around 5'4 x 22 lazy sunday. S...

Re: Ebay Bargains thread
Board curing is exponetially decreasing so past a few weeks the difference would be minimal.

(No affiliation) Triple bull warehouse. JS, dhd, pyzel, Channel Islands boards going new for 600-650. Had a quick look, nothing I need at moment. There was a 5'10 fishcuit there with future fin boxs. A few biscuits. Some longer higher volume shortboards. Get in there and check it out if you're into...

it felt to me like they were dragging it out for the sake of it, just to get people to tune into dawn patrol every morning, play a few more adds etc.
bet it won't get as good as it was saturday!

Re: Bells
how embarrassing are the surf line forecasts. says its going to be 4ft then in brackets (waist to shoulder high). Surfline uses 'face feet' as their metric, so technically they're correct. They switched over around 10 years back, a cynic might say around the time XXL and other big wave conte...

that looks more like a collapsed blank than intentional deep doubles.

c-skins long sleeve vest. lasted about 8 surfs and started falling apart, plus the neoprene was scratchy in some parts and the arms didn't stretch where the logos were ironed on. won't be getting oner one.

Re: snapper pro
they f**ked up, there was small but good waves the opening few days they didn't run - and now they've had to extend it. feel sorry for the battlers with limited sponsors who have to pay an extra few days accommodation only to get knocked out in rnd 2.

Re: Wooden Handboards
i do them as a hulled entry, slight concave in the middle and channel/v out the back.
in reality, a maccas tray works for the job, so i'm not convinced subtle bottom contours are critical. If you have a molded one with and inch of concave it would lift and bite.

Re: Pipe Masters
medina has got through tonnes of suss heats this year. Taj tore him a new one in the semis (or was it quarters) at snapper so he shouldn't have even been in the final. I hope he gets a 25th so charlie can take him back home to the rape dungeon.
