I found that confusing.
Also, you're looking a bit thin : not doing a gautama on us?

I reckon you are getting some good replies here Nick.
Whose your target market?
I travel a bit and am very happy taking 2 or 3 boards in a padded bag.
I wouldn't see the need to buy a hard case: too much like hard work schlepping it around airline counters.

They won't work as well but that's not the point.
All it takes is some order to be created in amongst the randomness and fun surf results.
a six second windswell is fun if breaking on a defined bank.

Re: Engineering good surf, another approach?
Don't agree with your initial premise. Good bathymetry trumps wind conditions. Onshore reefs/points are super fun to surf and usually uncrowded, as long as the bank/bottom is defined enough there will be enough bottom tension/curve to surf. Compare that with the Dubai wave pool. Even with perfect su...

Re: Bong in big trouble
Correct me if I'm wrong but in informal discussions whilst smoking joints with a high level Gold Coast stockbroker during Dec he told me that it was London to a brick Bong were being circled by private equity looking for a cheap and easy meal by short selling bong stock. Selling off half of Nixon ha...

Donuts remind me of cops.
For that reason I repudiate donuts near surf breaks.

Re: Surf/Weather - what's coming Mar/Apr?
Pushed back up to 12 last week. 5month running mean still 13.
Won't be until late Feb/early Mar we see the next MJO phase. Currently NAM (northern aus monsoon) is in an inactive phase, so enjoy a couple of weeks of good rockfishing condys and get your small wave sleds out.

Re: Surf/Weather - what's coming Mar/Apr?
Not sure either Don, But I call to the witness stand the MJO signal, the historical record, the upcoming period of light ridging in the Coral Sea greatly aiding and abetting both SST's and OHC in the region and the secret NOAA documents. Nontheless the calls have been made, let the chips fall where ...

Re: Surf/Weather - what's coming Mar/Apr?
I reckon, judging by the late second blossoming of the citrus and the medieval strength MJO signal now propagating off the African coast and into the Indian Ocean, which has already spawned severe TC Giovanna, a system hellbent on bringing wrathful destruction on Madagascar, that we will see a gorge...

There's no freshwater, you need to take in your own.
You'll get crusty as hell in a day or two.
Take a bottle of tea-tree oil and put a capful into a small bowl of water.....use a small washer to give yaself a wash. Stop little cuts from going infected and you'll feel a million bucks.
