Re: urge to poo when suiting up
i have developed an association between the smell of cancer council suncreen and rocking off at tama in 15" surf. I know this winter has been a bit bad but I didn't realise we are now measuring surf in inches! As for needing to drop the 'Cosbys off at the Pool' it's mind over brown matter. I go whe...

At 2:40 that guy getting lip launched. How is he not dead? Or is he? That looked like he landed right about where the dry reef was. Nuts how some guys take a high line.

Fark that reminds me of the chariot wheels in Ben Hur.

The airs are pretty good as they seem seamless, considering the guy is probably hanging from a string.

Re: Would this, could this happen?
What if you are a tourist and just visiting Snapper? Or if you have a big quiver? Do you have to get rego for each board? How do you get graded, do you go out with an examinor and hope it's not that day you surf like a kook? Next thing we'll have council stickers and you can only surf in your counci...

I got an O'Neill Psycho 2 last season (3/2) and I'm not that impressed. It started leaking in one knee within just a few weeks. My wrists up to my elbows are always cold as water seems to get in, and if you jump off your board in a late take off, the ankles ride up high and you get flushed out. Even...

I used to go out in all sorts of junk before I started going overseas, now I'm a swell snob and find it hard to go out if it isn't good enough. Got dragged over to Manly by a mate yesterday too and it was nuts. I don't surf there unless it's big because it's just a farkin zoo. Every wave 3 guys on it.

Re: How BIG will Sydney be on Saturday????!
Well I reckon today and yesterday have been pretty disappointing. You can see big swell marching from South to North on the horizon but it's not doing much on the beaches. Longy to No Mans just a mess, Dee Why beach a close-out, DY point overcrowded as usual for not much. Curl Curl too big and messy...

Re: Video of artifical reef in India that actually might work
That's pretty ironic. All the 'surfing' reefs they have constructed have been disasters. Then they make one where it's primary function is to prevent erosion and on the right swell it actually churns out some good looking waves. It looks like they've lucked into a flagship, with the right swell and ...

Video of artifical reef in India that actually might work
Dunno if this has been posted before, from surfline: http://www.surfline.com/surfline/forecasts4/forecast_blog_entry.cfm?id=42915 An artifical reef in India from ASR that actually seems to work a little. Although from my point of view it looks like it breaks near the very last section of reef and ki...

Re: what have you sacrificed for surfing?
I won't leave my job for a better one as I don't want to work in the city. I don't think there are many jobs in my industry so close to home and on the Northern Beaches. I could probably earn a bit more but it's a lifestyle decision I guess. I want to be able to surf before and after work, and get a...

Re: Reckon its possible to over surf?
Yep happens to me on every Indo trip when I have to force myself to get out there as I'm tired, sunburnt, sore and content with all the waves I've already had. I reckon surfing wouldn't be nearly as addictive if I lived off the coast of Sumatra where your cup truly runneth over.

Yeah someone please explain, I've never understood it either. Too much front foot in my mind means lots of catching the rail. Don't we all turn off the back foot?

Re: Board Bags
One thing you need to check when buying is the empty weight of the bag. I have a Globe coffin that can probably fit 4 boards but I usually take 3. The problem is it weighs a lot empty. So no matter how light I pack I always get an overweight charge. The wheels and protective base add a lot of weight...

Re: Riding Motor Bike in Bali
Whilst growing up in Jakarta, the local International School used to hit up Bali for Spring Break each year. Me and my mates used to rent motor bikes using our School ID cards as drivers licenses. We were between 14 and 16 years old back then. One day 4 of us were racing down Kuta beach street. I wa...

Re: Stinging Jellyfish in water on Northern Beaches
Like Davros said there are two or more types. As far as I can tell the 'Purple People Eaters' only give a little buzz of a sting and then itch, nothing wrong with that. I got one right across the face last week and heaps on my arms and legs but no problem. You guys are either getting stung by the ot...
