Re: Gary McNeill

I'm a convert. An acolyte. A zealot. Best made board ever. By a country mile but great construction means nothing if it doesn't go. A CV2, and certainly not a groveller. I rode an entity in quality 3 to 4 foot lefts as well and a superb board. Struggled in poorer surf though.

Re: General snow stuff

... our 4yo got cold and didn't like it at all. I'm not surprised, given the conditions. Paddo-backwards, I ride >110mm skis everyday in all conditions. I even occasionally sneak into the gates for old time's sake. Having only rode narrowish hired piste skis in NZ I think I need to take it easy bef...

Re: General snow stuff

It looked more interesting than just flat on the map but they can be deceiving. That was kinda my thought, if it dumps I'll get something wider (when it dumps?!). Last thing I want is to be stuck with (albeit decent) on piste skis from a hire shop, Tomy Rentals has some premium Ogasaka with sub 70 ...

Re: sell me your board - budget $250 tops

I had a BB. Fun board but was not a fan of its late tail flip, I thought the Revolution was a far better board with respect to drive, BB likes the pocket. You'll enjoy it though.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

hey steve. do you know much of the sydney waters for fishing? where would a bay/estuary fishing pleb beginner (me) be best off trying to snag a feed? we're talking nothing fancy here. real dum-dum type stuff. handline, cast it in, catch a feed. You north or south Hatchy? Some good spots around Spit...

Re: RS BBQ Sydney Dec 13 Sat (location poll up)

Tempting as it is to sit on a train for an hour with a bunch of half cut internet strangers, eat a heap of protein and drink litres of beer then try not to shit myself on the way home, I am an unlikely starter Somebody please film this event When you put it that way Boo there's no way a sane person...

Re: General snow stuff

legion, thanks for awesome information. I really hope you don't delete. Couple more questions. I am going to bring (my brothers) Rev 85 Pro Head skis ( classified as all mountain) as I figure most of the available hire ski will be piste orientated with narrow waist, which might not be the best for N...

Re: General snow stuff

As a kid and teenager I looked jealously at those punters. Most memorable experiences were skiing up the south side of Perisher into Guthega and back again (before Blue Cow), a retun trip to Charlottes via the Porcupines in harsh, harsh conditions as a very young teenager and a day trip to the main ...

Re: General snow stuff

^^i figure the Onsen will daunting but part of the experience. Yeah a ski would be great, I skied most of NZ with my brother who is very competent and a mate who is a bit less and they pushed me. I have been checking out the map but those pointers are very helpful, I had in mind to look at most if t...

Re: General snow stuff

Wow, there is some brilliant info there. Thanks 3-) I am a intermediate after not skiing for over 20 years. Was handling the blue runs in NZ and at speed by the end, so definitely not in your league. We are just finalising the accommodation this week and this will be very helpful, decided to stay 10...
