Re: Ebay Bargains thread
My twin is 6'0. I'm 5'10 and 84kg. So I guess that qualifies as 'bigger'. Wouldn't wanna go any shorter than 6'0 with having to chase down and drive over lumpy shifty beachies.

I'm gonna do the whole thing from start to finish, with guidance. My graphics and art will be straight from the depths of psychedelic hell.

Re: First attempt
Noted, but I will be under guidance from a bloke that used to have a shaping factory up in Lennox back in the nineties thru early 2000s. He used to ghost shape for a lot of the big names up there, and has done stack of channel bottoms. Have seen his boards and the dude can surely shape. So will/shou...

First attempt
sometime in January onward i'm going to have a crack at shaping my first board. this is the draft (quick pencil sketch). not yet decided on the tail width and shape? i'm leaning towards the wider tail for more drive/resistance over flatter-dead sections, carry thru speed etc - and the bat tail for m...

Now only $140 negotiable. He's despo. You could simply call that dude up and offer him a hundred and he'd take it for sure.

North end, then south end, then north end again. The banks have officially turned to garbage once more. It'll need a solid groundswell or two to sort things out again.

Re: Twin fins as go-to boards
Been having a blast on the twinny lately. Waist high lumpy slop to clean overhead.
Put it thru the paces last weekend. Found out it can handle a bit of size. 4-5 foot reef bombie. The board felt loose and carvy, but still had a tonne of bite and grip, and plenty of drive.

This FB site "board porn" gets some seriously nice looking boards on it, shapers from all over. Typically the old-new blended shapes

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Today and yesterday, a four foot plus reef bombie a few hours south of Sydney. Real swell magnet. First time I've surfed it. Steep take off with a fun inside bowl section you could carve up. Really shifty wave, and elusive at times. Kinda like a ripbowl. It looks like it'd be a great spot in a big s...

Re: skateboarding ...
After having time off, the first thing you quickly have to remember is that you're not on water . Meaning, don't try and plant your backfoot through the back of the lip, like a vertical re-entry. Instead, it's fkn concrete, so ease up a little, and push off it (not through it), or you could fk yours...

Re: skateboarding ...
I don't, although it may seem that way. I just maximise what spare time I have, and create opportunities for myself ( example get up super early to go surfing, or hit the gym ). I've hardly skated in the past eighteen months. Just got the urge again. Carving up bowls is good cross training for surfi...
