Re: Midlengths

I've owned a few of them and did a few seasons in Roti on a 7'6. It'll go just fine in anything - head to double no problem.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

I haven't surfed that much over summer and my reflects are down as you'd expect with age. It's an age and fitness game. A mid length cruise on a crescent head 4ftr sound so much more appealing than a board snapping coral reef. Come Autumn and if the surf hours are up then maybe a juicy wave like La...

Re: Just general surfing stuff

Good question. Since you asked: There's two fish and one gunny shape that are in the maybe category. My fishcuit I rode pretty exclusively for a year and a half. Had some great waves on it but it was ultimately frustrating wave count wise. Gun will probably get sold unless I move somewhere where I'...

Re: Just general surfing stuff

Thanks for the reference Hatchy. Here's a few excerpts: "TufLite reacts abruptly to any changes in the wave face with no softening of its effects beyond that built into the board's design . It's not a particularly good or bad feeling -- just different. A competent surfer might work with it to gain s...

We know cranked is just trolling because he doesn't even surf sw WA.
I surfed the WA coast (mainly the SW and NW) from when I moved here from Cronulla in 1990 until I retired four years ago, now I just surf the bukit for 6 months a year.

Re: Just general surfing stuff

At 9' they have plenty of weight and momentum. I've ridden them in heavy chop in double overhead at MR main break and Yallingup, as have lots of other surfers here in WA. Don't listen to Iggy, he probably hasn't ridden a mal in anything over head high.

Re: Just general surfing stuff

You should be able to get a nearly as new surftech version of the some world's most renowned shapers designs (alive or dead) for around $500-$700

Here's a Yater in WA for $500

Re: Where did you surf today ?

The water temp felt a tad warmer, mind. Success! Nope, it was pretty cold south of the Gong. On the bright side, I must have caught the most waves of any session that I ever had in Oz. I recall three times when my surfing suddenly took huge leaps forward. Each was proceeded by a long period of frus...
