i have trouble breathing under water too :P You should never bail your board on purpose. I guess maybe if you are the only one out then who cares but i still try and get under every wave, 99 percent of the time i have no problems. Use the Foot to duck dive and youll be suprised what you can get under.

I do both.

Whatever i think i need to do, if its big whitewash then yeah use the foot, it lets you push the board right down. But if You are in the right place, wave just starting to break, using the knee is fine. Also knee for small waves for sure.

thats just insane! I cannot stand crowded breaks, the chance of getting dogged on a wave or run over is high. But the wedge is on a total different level, you just have to huge freaking balls and want to die!
